The Arc of Indiana stands alongside mothers representing Indiana Families United 4 Care (IFU4C) who met with Governor Holcomb and FSSA Secretary Daniel Rusyniak on Monday April 29 to address multiple failures in the state’s transition from Attendant Care for legally responsible individuals (LRIs) to Structured Family Caregiving (SFC).
IFU4C submitted 10 recommendations to Gov. Holcomb and Sec. Rusyniak on how FSSA can better support families impacted by its recent cuts to the Attendant Care Program.
Kim Dodson, The Arc of Indiana CEO, stated, “The transition from Attendant Care to Structured Family Caregiving is absolutely not going well. Families caring for medically fragile children deserve better. We call on Governor Holcomb and FSSA leadership to take immediate action and, as promised in the meeting, share within the next few days what steps will be taken to address this critical issue.”
Thanks to these wonderful moms who, in addition to caring for a medically fragile child, are doing the hard work of advocating for their child and others across the state.
